Alois Lageder Chardonnay has a brilliant, straw-yellow colour with light green hints. This wine has delicate aromas with pronounced notes of subtropical fruit; quite intense flavor and a good, medium bodied structure, coupled with lively acidity.
The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks, then raised for 4 months on their own fine sediment.
The Chardonnay grapes come from selected vineyards in Magrè and Salorno, at an altitude of 230-350 meters. Warm microclimate with large temperature differences between day and night. Soil of sand and stones with a high content of limestone. Age of the vines: 10-35 years.
Nice wine as an aperitif, with starters, salads, all types of seafood (fish and shellfish), chicken, pasta.
Alois Lageder Chardonnay is a delicious Italian white wine from the Alto Adige region. This wine is made by winery Alois Lageder from Chardonnay grapes.
The Alois Lageder winery in Alto Adige comprises fifty hectares of the family's own vineyards, which are managed on the basis of bio-dynamic principles. Our holistic approach is reflected in our wine-growing activities, our long-standing relationships with numerous grape growers and our ambition to create awareness for an agriculture that is in tune with nature. Bio-dynamics (from the Greek bios meaning life and dinamikòs meaning movement) is a method employed for the renewal of agriculture that is based on the principles of anthroposophy, a vw developed by the Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner at the beginning of the 20th century. The anthroposophical view is that a farm is an enclosed microcosm containing a variety of plants and animals. A cultural landscape, too, is a closed system involving the soil, plants and nature. Our objective as wine growers is to maintain and develop this complex ecosystem.
