Wheatfield wines is a family business that has been owned by the du Preez family for decades. Knowledge has been passed on from father to son for generations. Wheatfield Wines uses European knowledge and experience for wine making. The process of production, sourcing, maturing and bringing to market is done exclusively by Jan, Marcel and Jacques du Preez.

The wines are steeped in a rich history and are made exclusively in small quantities under the care and guidance of Jan du Preez. Jan du Preez has more than 35 years of experience in the local and international wine industry. He started his wine career in the Bergkelder in Stellenbosch and has since made wine at many famous wine estates in the Cape.

Jan's winemaking career took him to Germany in the Baden and Rheingau regions, as well as California's Napa Valley. Due to Jan's extensive production knowledge, both locally and internationally, he was appointed to establish a number of well-known South African wine brands in the European market. With this knowledge, Jan moved back to South Africa and implemented this way of thinking in the local market through his own company. Marcel du Preez grew up in a winery environment and his family was actively involved in the wine world for three generations.
