Is a delicious white wine from the Alsace region France. This wine is made from Gewürztraminer grapes by winery Dopff au Moulin from Riquewihr.
Recommended wine serving temperature between 8°C and 12°C.
Since the 17th century, the Dopff family has been located in the beautiful village of Riquewihr, located in the heart of Alsace; and all the while the Dopffs, from father to son, are busy making wine. In the 19th century, Jean Gustave Dopff began to expand the family vineyard, which has since grown to become the largest in the central part of Alsace. The Dopffs have often played a pioneering role. Around 1900, Julien Dopff was the first to start producing sparkling wines in Alsace. With his "method traditionelle", modeled on champagne, he laid the foundation for the later Crémant d’Alsace. Julien was also the first to fill his wine in tall, slender bottles, the still-used flûte d’Alsace. Dopff au Moulin owns 70 hectares of vineyard and is still 100% owned by the family. With almost 9 hectares, Dopff au Moulin is the main owner of Riquewihr’s famous Grand Cru Schoenenbourg. Dopff also works with a network of permanent contract farmers. All wines are vinified by Dopff itself. In addition to the sparkling Crémant d’Alsace, Dopff au Moulin produces high-quality Alsatian wines in three categories: Tradition, Réserve and Domaine.
This french Alsace wine has a bright golden yellow color. Dopff Gewürztraminer has a rich, aromatic and sophisticated (floral, spicy) smell. Is soft, supple and full of flavor with a rich long finish.
This Alsace wine is excellent in cuisine with a distinctive flavor, rich cheeses (Munster), Asian cuisine, foie gras and as an aperitif.
