Gabriëlskloof The Blend
Gabrielskloof The Blend has a deep dark ruby red color. In the nose aromas of black currants, cherries, freshly roasted coffee beans, tobacco, vanilla and a hint of anise. In the taste palette notes of ripe small red-black fruit, something of chocolate and laurel, accompanied by an aftertaste with soft tannins.
The grapes are harvested manually in optimal condition with strict selection. In the vinification room, the bunches are left whole and after a short cold soaking, they are allowed to undergo alcoholic fermentation with wild (grape own) yeasts in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. This is followed by pressing and the young wine is transferred to used oak barriques of 500 liters for malolactic fermentation and maturation. After 12 months, assembly and bottling follows.

Gabriëlskloof Wine Estate
Gabrielskloof Wine Estate is a family business located just outside Botrivier. Bernhard Heyns had been looking for the right piece of land for years to make his own wines. He sought an untouched piece of land with optimal soil and climate conditions and land that had not previously been planted with vines to allow them to grow virus-free. In 2001 Bernhard bought the estate and the vineyards, then it was still called Adventure, and named it after the former owner Gabriel le Roux (owner in 1842). The ambition is to produce the best wines possible that reflect the complexity, richness and diversity of Gabrielskloof's unique terroir. Nature is treated in the most environmentally friendly way possible and with respect for the biodiversity of the region. Botrivier has a Mediterranean climate with a long growing season and an average to warm temperature.
