Hamilton Russell Chardonnay is a classic style Chardonnay made. Compared to many other Chardonnay wines tighter and drier, with a complex mineral character and a great length, in which the fruit comes into its own very well. An elegant wine with a strong personality.

This Chardonnay wine undergoes a traditional vinification. The wine matures for 9 months in 228 liter French oak barrels.

Owner Anthony Hamilton Russell is a passionate winemaker who always succeeds in making wines that belong to the absolute top of South Africa. An excellent terroir, mild maritime climate, low yields and great craftsmanship ensure that his Chardonnay always gets the highest scores in the international wine press. The Hamilton Russell winery is located in the cool southern Walker Bay area in a pretty valley behind the old fishing village of Hermanus.

Wine - Food pairing

The perfect partner for fish dishes from the grill, such as prawns or turbot, possibly with a creamy sauce. Also delicious with ripe, aged cheeses.

Tip: The wine is best decanted before drinking.
