Liguria is a narrow coastal strip in northern Italy that connects to the French Riviera. Grape cultivation takes place on the steep slopes of the Mediterranean Sea. It is located close to Tuscany between the Gulf of La Spezia and the Apuan Alps, only 11 kilometers from the sea as the crow flies. This creates a unique microclimate where the alternating action of the sea and the mountain breeze, depending on whether it is day or night, creates the perfect conditions for cultivating vines.
Ka Manciné Rossese Dolceacqua Beragna is a delicious Italian red wine from the Liguria region. This wine is made by winery Ka Mancine from 100 % Rossese grapes.
Maurizio Anfosso and Roberta Repaci own just three hectares of land in the Beragna and Galeae vineyards, which belong to the DOC Rossese di Dolceacqua. They have been planted with Rossese, Vermentino and small amounts of the very rare Tabaca. This small and relatively unknown wine region represents the top of Ligurian viticulture.
Dolceacqua is a small town in the extreme west of Liguria, near the border with France. The native Rossese grape grows here in a small area, on steep slopes consisting of soft slate and marl. The old sticks give low yields but high quality.
