Le Dix de Los Vascos, a Chilean wine from Colchagua Valley, is a powerful red Chilean icon wine, red-brown in color. Le Dix has a scent with nuances of black and candied fruit, subtly spicy with a pleasant woody touch. Beautifully structured with a perfect balance between fruit and mild tannins, followed by a long finish.
This wine was first made to celebrate 10 years of the Rothschilds as owner of Viña Los Vascos. It is aged for 18 months in new French oak. The wooden barrels, including a large proportion of barriques, come from Château Lafite-Rothschild's own cooperage.
Delicious Chilean red wine that pairs well with fine meat dishes with rich sauces (lamb, beef), game and various cheeses).
Le Dix de Los Vascos is a delicious Chilean red wine of Viña Los Vascos from Colchagua Valley Chile. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon ( more than 85%), Syrah and Carmenère grapes.
At the place where Viña Los Vascos now stands (Colchagua Valley in Central Chile), the first vines were planted 250 years ago by the Echenique family. The first French grape varieties were introduced around 1850. In 1981, the bodega was definitively named Viña Los Vascos, a tribute to the original Basque owners.
Since 1988, Los Vascos has been part of the Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), a group of wineries led by the renowned Château Lafite-Rothschild in Bordeaux. The vineyards are located at an altitude of over 120 meters and about 40 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. Wind from the sea tempers the heat during the summer months and in winter the area is free of frost. Due to the significant temperature differences between day and night, the grapes ripen slowly and are given every opportunity to develop their full aroma potential.
