Markus Molitor is known for producing a very distinct style of Mosel Riesling: quite firmly structured with initially very strong yeast notes and a lot of bottom impression. Markus takes into account the quality of the grapes, which made the region world famous 100 years ago. The wines of Markus Molitor therefore show the potential of the Moselle: structure and depth of taste combined with freshness and elegance. The wines regularly receive awards and the winery was elected best producer in the category Riesling Feinherb, Riesling Spätlese at the beginning of 2006.

At just 20 years old, Markus Molitor took over his father's winery in 1984 with the aim of continuing the eight-generation tradition. The winery is located in the center of Wehlener Klosterberg. They pay a lot of attention to the natural care of the vineyards. Natural resource management in the Molitor vineyards is the philosophy of Markus Molitor. The soils are enriched exclusively with biological agents and a balanced leaf-fruit ratio provides the desired high quality of the grapes. The vineyards of Markus Molitor are planted for 94% with Riesling and the rest consists of Weissburgunder (Pinot-Blanc) and Spätburgunder (Pinot-Noir). The harvest is done remarkably late in the season and exclusively by hand in selective picking runs.
