Mastroberardino Falanghina del Sannio

Mastroberardino Falanghina del Sannio is a very popular wine. The name probably comes from “falange”, the pole used to keep the very vigorous branches, But there are no historical sources. The name appeared for the first time in the agriculture treaties in the mid-nineteenth century.

Mastroberardino Falanghina del Sannio is a fresh and fruity wine with strong and penetrating nuances of citrus fruits, pineapple and white flowers.

Grapes comes from the Apice estate, mainly located on medium-textured soils, oriented to the south-east and at an average altitude of 350 meters above sea level.

Classic white vinification in steel tanks (about 20 days) at controlled temperature (16°C-18°C).

Mastroberardino Falanghina del Sannio

Mastroberardino Falanghina del Sannio is an Italian white wine from Campania Italy. This wine is made from 100% Falanghina del Sannio grapes.

Azienda Vinicola Mastroberardino

Mastroberardino was founded in 1878, and is therefore one of the historic wine companies of Campania. For a large part of the 20th century it was even the only well-known producer. In addition, it was responsible for about half of the total production of Campania and even 90% of the now renowned Taurasi wine region. In the second half of the twentieth century, more and more producers were added, so that the Mastroberardino share logically fell.

The company and the Mastroberardino family also played a major role in this development. Antonio Mastroberardino in particular, nicknamed the "grape archaeologist", has made an enormous effort to restore the old, classic grapes of the region. With great success. Grapes such as Greco and Fiano owe their current success and growing plantings to the family. The development of the blue grape Aglianico also received a major boost through the initiatives of this family company.
