Merlin Pouilly Fuissé

Merlin Pouilly Fuissé, a white French Burgundy wine, has a light green-gold color. Fresh and very aromatic, with nuances of white peach and Williams pear. Fresh and clean on the tongue, supple and fruity, round and generous, with remarkably clean minerality in the long finish.

The grapes from each plot are harvested, pressed and vinified separately. After a light natural settling, the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in oak barrels (1/4 new, 3/4 1, 2, 3 years old). In it, the young wine is aged for 10 months on 'groins' (own fine sediment) with regular 'bâtonnage' (stirring and stirring the sediment for more fat, minerality and complexity). In this way the wine is completely stable in structure and can be bottled unclarified after a light filtration on fine silica (kieselguhr).

Pouilly-Fuissé is a white wine appellation in the southern part of Burgundy, France. It is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the villages of Fuissé, Pouilly, Chaintré and Solutré-Pouilly. Pouilly-Fuissé is considered one of the best appellations for Chardonnay in Burgundy, and the wines produced here are highly regarded by wine enthusiasts around the world.
