Is a delicious Italian white wine from the Veneto region. This wine is made by winery Pieropan from Garganega and Trebbiano grapes.
The Pieropan business was founded in 1880 in the heart of the medieval village of Soave, in the historic Palazzo Pullici. Four generations marked the history of the company, each with their own contributions which varied according to the times, knowledge and entrepreneurial attitude. The wine business started with Leonildo, physician of Soave, who was driven by knowledge in biology and chemistry and began working in the family vineyards and whose work in the cellars was carried on by his sons, Fausto and Gustavo who worked with infinite passion.
La Rocca is situated on the slopes of Monte Rocchetta, below the adjacent medieval castle which dominates the town of Soave. The vineyard benefits from a special micro climate which in turn produces a wine with great personality, a distinctive perfume and unique characteristics. Innovative since it’s first release in 1978, it has made its mark in the area and is become a definitive symbol of quality and tradition.
Makes an excellent partner to complex dishes, even with strong flavors particularly risottos such as porcini, or celery, squash and almond, salt cod and other fish including salmon, scallops and crab.
