Salentein Primus Chardonnay is a beautiful Argentinian Chardonnay wine from Bodegas Salentein from the Salentein Primus range. The vineyards are located in the heart of Valle de Uco, Argentina, over 1300 meters above sea level and are over 30 years old. The soil consists of coarse rock, which provides perfect water drainage. The nights are cool and the days sunny and warm resulting in concentrated fruity wines with a nice acidity and ripe tannin. All this gives the wine its unique characteristics. The grapes come from the La Pampa and the El Portillo Estate.
The grapes for this wine are picked by hand and crushed very gently. The temperature is kept as low as possible during fermentation. Not warmer than 20°C. During fermentation, the wine is transferred into narrow French oak barrels. Further 10 months aging in these barrels.
The only white wine from the Primus series and what an icon! Beautiful golden yellow and olive green tones in the glass. An elegant nose of ripe fruit and notes of French oak. Excellent full structure and a charming finish.
A full-bodied wine ideally served with sophisticated and complex dishes, like pork, and particularly dishes based on white sauces, mushrooms.
