Sandrone Le Vigne Barolo is a traditional Barolo made from grapes that come from various vineyards. This 'Le Vigne' combines the strength of 4 different wine-growing regions in the Barolo appellation of origin: Barolo (Vignane, west-facing, calcareous clay, 250 meters above sea level, average age of the vines: 25 years), Novello (Merli, after facing west-southwest, mixed soil of marl and limestone, 400 meters above sea level, average age of the vines: 25 years) and Monteforte d'Alba (Conterni, facing south, mixed soil of marl and limestone, 450 meters above sea level sea level, average age of the vines: 45 years and Ceretta, facing south-southeast, fairly shallow soil of calcareous marl and sand, 250 meters above sea level, average age of the vines: 15 years).
Vinification (winemaking): The grapes from each of the four vineyards are vinified separately. The maceration lasts 9-10 days in stainless steel tanks, the alcoholic fermentation 28 days. The malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels with a capacity of 500 litres. An 18-month upbringing follows in the same barrels. The assembly of the various cuvées takes place in the summer of the second year of ageing. After bottling, the wine rests in the bottle for another 18 months before it can be sold.
This classic Barolo expresses the soul of his country and longs for typical Piedmontese specialties with braised or roasted meat and/or Alba truffle in the lead role. However, it also combines excellently with refined and tasty dishes from the better international kitchen. Delicious with the very best, ripe hard cheeses from Northern Italy!
Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne is a delicious Italian red wine from the Piedmont region. This wine is made by winery Luciano Sandrone from Nebbiolo grapes.
We have dedicated ourselves to the wine for more than 50 years with rationality, with thought and with all our love. The first impression is that of Luciano who without Family heritage chooses the perfect quality for his wines, tracing a clear path. Luciano taught us who we are today. The choice of only native vines in the best areas of Barolo is the basis of the Sandrone philosophy, once upon a time as today.
