Stepp Pinot Noir

Stepp Pinot Noir is a fruity and smooth red wine, elegant and with light earthy notes. We taste fruit of strawberries, cherries and blackberries, but in the distance also cinnamon and bay leaf. The wine has a mild acidity and little tannin, so flexibility is guaranteed. Despite the fact that Gerd could also have put Spätburgunder on the label, he prefers the more recognizable international name: Pinot Noir. Where Riesling is the grape for white in Germany, Pinot Noir or Spätburgunder is for red.

Wine - Food pairing

Delicious with veal and pork, duck, poultry with creamy sauce, dishes with mushrooms.

Wine from the Pfalz

The grapes of Weingut Gerd Stepp mainly come from 2 places in the Pfalz. One is limestone based and the other sandstone based. They are both ideal for the production of quality wines. The vineyards are steep and terraced. The grapes are 100% hand picked. Weingut Gerd Stepp produces well-defined Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Scheurebe, among others. From good entry, which are very affordable to crus with clear terroir expression.
