Domaine du Grand Crès

Domaine du Grand Crès

This small domain on the heights of the Corbières (300 m) is owned by Hervé Leferrerer and his wife Pascaline. After several years being the manager of the world-famous Domaine de la Romanee Conti, Leferrerer was ready for a new challenge. He changed with the help of his family a bit wild, inhospitable and inaccessible terrain in a small wine paradise. In 2009, 20 years after the establishment the domain has a total production area of 19 ha (including 2 ha lease). The grapes for the red Corbières come from Lagrasse terroir, a plateau of limestone and clay at 300 m above sea level. The top layer consists of loose soil with stones, obtained after the uprooting of all wild bushes and herbs, in Southeast France known as the "garrigue". The average yield is low, 30 hl / ha.
