Austrian Blaufränkisch wines
This old native variety was used as a crossbreeding partner for new Austrian varieties such as Zweigelt, Blauburger, Roesler and Rathay. The indigenous grape variety Blaufränkisch is mainly used in the wine regions of Northern, Central and South Burgenland and in the eastern wine-growing regions of Lower Austria.
