How can you take life easy, and yet seriously? How can you vehemently employ biodynamic agriculture without drifting into sectarianism? How can you produce wines that are profound, but not show-offs? How can you explain the new Loimer wines to wine experts and their disciples without being overly pedantic? These and similar questions characterize our professional and private everyday lives. See for yourself!
It’s only logical: You can always make things a little better. Say, more natural, more gentle, more truthful, more pure. Therefore, since 2006 we have operated all our own vineyards strictly organically, in harmony with the natural soil, plants, animals and humans. In addition, we have been inspired by the ideas of the natural scientist and anthroposophist Rudolph Steiner. This has brought us, we admit, criticism from some quarters. Our wines, however, have not - on the contrary. And in the end, that is what matters to us.
The only thing that’s constant is the change we are helping to shape, dynamically. At the same time, we also respect those things which are of such high quality, they are worth preserving. Like our 150 year-old cellar, literally the cornerstone of our wine estate, carved out of the loess by hand and lined with stones. High standards, which we gladly apply to ourselves, and try to meet in all areas of life. Only time will tell if we have succeeded.
