There are two types of wineries in Chile. Those who have been engaged in wine growing for decades and the new, recently established, generation.
Viña Ventisquero belongs to this last category and produces according to the latest techniques wine by using the most modern means. Viña Ventisquero started as an ambitious project by Gonzalo Vial. Owner of Agrosuper, the largest food company in Chile. The winery was built in Maipo Valley and around it the first vineyards were planted, followed shortly by vineyards in Casablanca Valley and Apalta Valley. In 2001 the first volume came on the market.
Sustainable wine of Chile
From the very beginning, respect for the natural environment was central. We work in an environmentally friendly manner, for example by limiting water use, by compensating for CO2 emissions from transport and by leaving the natural environment intact as soon as possible. This ultimately led to certification by "Sustainable wine of Chile" for all vineyards. Ventisquero is the first Chilean wine house that has succeeded. Ventisquero has now planted vineyards in 7 different wine regions: Maipo, Casablanca, Apalta, Lolol, Leyda, Peralillo and Huasco (Atacama). There are therefore no grapes purchased. All wines are produced with own grapes. Ventisquero produces wines in different price ranges. From the smooth, fruity and accessible Clasico wines via Yelcho, Reserva, Queulat (single vineyard), Gray (single Block) to Icon wines such as Heru, Vertice, Pangea and Enclave. A suitable Ventisquero wine is available for every wine drinker and for every moment.
