Buying Alsace wines online starts at Le-Connaisseur
In the northeast, bordering Germany lies Alsace or Alsace in French. It is a picturesque, narrow and elongated wine region at the foot of the Vosges. The area was once German, but has been in French hands since 1648. Wines from Alsace are predominantly white, characteristic and fresh and are named after the grape variety from which they are made. Common grapes are Riesling, Muscat, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. These grape varieties are the so-called noble grape varieties of Alsace and only these grapes are allowed for the Alsace Grand Cru AOC. Sparkling wines, the so-called Crémant d'Alsace, are also made and a small percentage of red wine, mainly Pinot Noir.
Le Connaisseur sells a wide range of wines from the famous Alsace region as Hugel Fils, Barmes Buecher, Trimbach, Weinbach, Marcel Deiss and Dopff au Moulin.
