Château de Montpezat is a beautiful domain in Pezenas in the Languedoc. Located in the low plain of the Hérault. The Chateau is of Gallic origin. Since the 16th century, the vineyards of the Château de Montpezat lie in the heart of the Languedoc. The 30 hectares of vineyards have been part of the same family for 3 generations.
Christophe Blanc has been running the domain since the early 1980s and has shown impressive quality improvement. Besides cépage wines (Vin de pays d'Oc) he produces AOC Coteaux du Languedoc wines, with a lot of power and concentration.
Since 2009, the estate has been certified for organic farming. No use is made of synthetic chemicals, pesticides, insecticides or fertilizers. All revenues are checked. The sulphite content is far below the legal threshold.
We have included the cépages Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot in our range. And especially the Sauvignon scores high: In 2003, 2008, 2009 and 2010 declared the best house wine in the Netherlands. There are also good reviews in the Guide Hachette, Revue des Vins de France and Parker.
