For almost 400 years the Grans-Fassian winery is in possession of the Grans Family. Gerhard Grans took over the winery from his father Matthias in 1982. Since then he extended the 10 acres sized vineyards up to currently 32 acres. Catherina, the youngest daughter of Gerhard is running the winery with her father for three years now. She is overtaking the winery in the 13th generation. Her studies in Geisenheim with the graduation as Bachelor of Science in Viticulture and Oenology has been supplemented with a European Master of Science in Viticulture and Oenology. Our wines are individual, characteristic in terroir and carry the unique handwriting of their manufacturers. The production of high-class wines is the highest priority in our winery. Requirements are the holding of the best vineyards and an intensive labor in our vineyards. Meanwhile, we cultivate on our 32 acres 90% Riesling. The assortment is supplemented with Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. Grans-Fassian wines are distinguished by elegance and minerality with a simultaneously brilliant fruit.
