German Pfalz wines

Le Connaisseur sells a wide range of Pfalz wines from various leading German wineries as Villa Wolf, Eymann, Emil Bauer, Oekonomierat Rebholz, Knipser, Gerd Stepp and Müller-Catoir.

The Pfalz is the second largest German wine-growing region with over 23,000 hectares of vineyard. It is divided into the Bereiche Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße and Südliche Weinstraße. In the area bordered and sheltered by the Palatinate Forest, the emphasis is on classic grape varieties, with the Riesling in the foreground. The king of white wines is the undisputed number 1 in the Palatinate with a plantation of over 5000 hectares. Weiß- and Grauburgunder are also growing strongly. Furthermore, Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Scheurebe, Gewürztraminer, Kerner and Morio-Muskat belong to the versatile white wine range of the Palatinate. Red wines are becoming increasingly important. There are sparkling fresh rosé wines from Portugieser and fruity ones from Spätburgunder. A typical success story for the Palatinate is the dark Dornfelder with its southern touch, a wine that has been making waves for a long time. Something similar applies to the increasingly planted cross Regent. Meanwhile, 40 percent of the vineyards between Haardt and Rijn produce red wine. The Pfalz is therefore the largest German area for red wines.
