German Rheinhessen wines

Le Connaisseur sells a wide range of Rheinhessen wines from various leading German wineries as Raddeck and Zellertaler Keller.

Rheinhessen is Germany's largest wine region. The plantation covers 26,000 hectares of vineyards between Alzey, Worms, Mainz and Bingen and is enclosed in the north and east by the great arch of the Rhine. The Romans were already making wine in the area on the left bank of the Rhine. The climate in Rheinhessen is ideal for viticulture. Mountains in the west provide shelter, while it rains little, the summers are warm and the winters are mild. These ideal working conditions are also appreciated by the young generation of winegrowers in Rheinhessen. A generation that has managed to attract attention with class wines in recent years. It is not only their Rieslings from the Rhine and from the hilly countryside that are causing a stir, but the Silvaner, traditionally the grape of the region, is also making itself felt.
