Giangirolami

Donato Giangirolami officially Azienda Agricola Biologica di Donato Giangirolami is a wonderful family domain. It is located in the Agro Pontino, a historic young area, about 40 km south of Rome Italy. In 1956 the first vineyard was planted by father Dante Giangirolami. He bought five hectares of land between Aprilia and Velletri. Today his son Donato is the owner. Like his father, Donato has made decisive choices for the growth of the company. In the nineties he expanded the business and bought land in Doganella, Ninfa and Borgo Montello.

Organic Viticulture

They work organic and they make truly beautiful white wines from the Grechetto and local pre-Romanesque Malvasia Puntinata grape. The Chardonnay Regus Giangirolami and the red wine Propizio Grechetto are beautiful Italian wines. In 2003 the organic label Donato Giangirolami was founded. At the beginning of 2000 the daughters of Donato, Federica and Laura started working in the company. This continued the family tradition.

Vineyards

The farm covers approximately 80 hectares of which 38 hectares are vineyard. The rest is orchard. They are on a volcanic soil and that is clearly testable. Since 1993, organic farming has started, so without using synthetic chemicals.

Lazio

Lazio is a region in the middle of Italy, bordered by Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo, Molise, Campania and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The capital is Rome. Lazio is divided into five provinces. The name Lazio comes from the ancient people the Latin’s. It is the cradle of the Latin language, and in fact of all Romance languages. With Rome as its capital, Lazio is a very important area in history, art, architecture, archeology, religion and culture.
