Cantine di Monserrato
Cantina di Montserrato was founded on 6 July 1924. This was an important step towards the start of a cooperative with ninety-nine winemakers. These cooperative members had good social governance from the outset and the making of good wine was high on their list.
Cellar Social of Monserrato
The Cellar Social of Monserrato was the first in Sardinia. Today, after more than 80 years of activity, she is still connected to the principles that are dear to the founding members. Enriched with the oenological modern techniques for processing the products. Currently there are more than 300 members of the Cantina Sociale di Monserrato. Distributed in the different municipalities of the province of Cagliari.
Vineyards of Monserrato
The vineyards of Monserrato cover about 700 hectares. This is where the most important vines of the Sardonic tradition are grown. Including Cannonau, Vermentino, Monica, Nuragus, Moscato and Nasco. New varieties have been introduced in recent decades, including Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Syrah and Chardonnay. These varieties enrich the oenological potential of the area.
The island of Sardinia has its own unique position, halfway between Italy and Spain. The Sardinian wines also have their own style, with a leading role for grape varieties such as Vermentino and Cannonau.
