New Zealand Wines
New Zealand wines
New Zealand is a beautiful country and only recently discovered as a wine country. Due to the location of the country, where both the North Island and the South Island are about 800 kilometers long, the climate varies from subtropical in the north to a cool continental climate in the extreme south. The abundant sunshine makes the land very suitable for growing grapes. The showpiece is Sauvignon Blanc, made in an expressive, dusty and aromatic style. The most famous area is Marlborough, located on the South Island between two mountain ridges, surrounded by waters of the Pacific Ocean. Other common grape varieties are Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Le Connaisseur sells an extensive range of New Zealand wines, including wines from Rapaura Springs, Man O'War, Nautilus Estate, Craggy Range and Misty Cove.
