Syrah wines South Africa

South African Shiraz wines

Shiraz - Syrah

The Shiraz grape (in English people talk about the Shiraz, in French about the Syrah) is doing well in dry climates. In Southeast France, the Rhone region, the Syrah tastes different from the Shiraz from South Africa. In South Africa, especially powerful and elegant full-bodied wines are made from the Syrah grape. About 8% of the wine production in South Africa consists of Syrah wines.

Wine & Food

The Syrah is primarily an eating wine. This wine is a sturdy wine and therefore fits well with a solid dish. Especially good with lamb, but also with red meat, steak or rabbit.
