Halbtrocken, Lieblich or Feinherb Riesling are fresh wines that have a slightly sweeter taste in contrast to Trocken Rieslings. Riesling often has aromas of ripe fruits such as apples, pears and citrus. Riesling often contains delicate and fresh acids.
Halbtrockene wines may contain up to 12 grams of residual sugar per litre, or a maximum of 18 g/l if the amount of residual sugar is no more than 10 grams above the amount of acids.
Liebliche wines have an amount of residual sugar that is higher than the standards for halbtrocken, but does not exceed 45 g/l.
