Rosa del Golfo was founded in the early 1950s by the De Corato family, and it is currently run by the third generation of the family. The winery is known for its commitment to sustainable viticulture practices, with a focus on preserving the unique terroir of the Salento peninsula.

Some of the flagship wines of Rosa del Golfo include the Primitivo di Manduria DOC, made from 100% Primitivo grapes, and the Salice Salentino DOC, a blend of Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes. The winery also produces a range of white and rosé wines made from local grape varieties.
