Tenuta di Sesta

Tenuta di Sesta

Tenuta di Sesta extends over approximately 200 hectares, including 30 hectares of vineyards. Since 1995, the winery has been managed by Giovanni Ciacci, who has since been joined by his children Andrea e Francesca in the field of business and agronomic management. For the Ciacci family, traditional aging in large oak barrels and renewed vineyard management based on climate change and in favor of the territory are the best strategy to obtain wines that best express the territory of Montalcino.

The vineyards are located south on a slope of 200 to 400 meters above sea level. This area is considered to be one of the most suitable areas for the production of Brunello di Montalcino, given its specific location. In fact, the vineyards in the north are sheltered from the cold winds of Tramontana from Poggio d'Arna and enjoy the warm Maremma coast breeze thanks to the proximity of Monte Amiata, and extinct volcano that is 1700 meters high, to the south of the region of Tuscany that favors a mild microclimate.
