Calabria

Calabria

Calabria is a wine region in southern Italy, known for its full-bodied red wines, mainly made from the Gaglioppo grape variety.

The region's signature wine is Cirò, made from the Gaglioppo grape. These wines are medium to full bodied, with flavors of dark cherry, blackberry and spice. They are often aged in oak barrels to add complexity and depth.

Calabria also produces white wines, of which Greco di Bianco is the most famous. These wines are rich and complex, with flavors of honey, apricot and tropical fruit.

In addition to these traditional wines, Calabria is also known for its sweet dessert wines made from the Greco Bianco and Malvasia grape varieties.
