Clos Saint Thomas is a family business from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon, where the dynamic Nathalie Touma launched the company after the Civil War, benefiting from the expertise of Papa Touma, who has known and followed his vines for 40 years. Unique wines are made here, original, the red and rosé very distinctive, not new world style, the rosé is an experience, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Cinsault, the white is 60 Sauvignon and 40 Chardonnay, the red comes from blends of Cabernet, Syrah, Merlot, Grenache and Cinsault. French barriques for the higher wines.
The Bekaa Valley is 600 m high, and has cool nights and hot days. Water comes from the Lebanon Mountains with eternal snow. Wines have been made here for 4000 years, and around the corner from the Clos St. Thomas domain is a Greek temple built for the wine god Dionysos. Knowledge enough, but after the war the modern insights came and especially the white and rosé wines have improved, the basic material is very good, here and there sticks of 100 years.
