Is an Australian red wine from the Adelaide region. This red wine is made from Syrah grapes.
The Aboriginal name "Wirra Wirra" means "between the gum trees". The wines of founder Bob Wigley, in particular the syrah, were in great demand in London. The wines have been exported all over the world for more than 100 years. In 1936 most of the vineyards were sold by the family and the wine cellars fell into disuse. In 1969, Greg and Roger bought Trott, the dilapidated winery and some surrounding terrain. The two full cousins brought their own vineyards to the new company and started making wine, helped warmly by the local wine producers.
This red wine is deep purple-red with carmine shades. In the nose: plums and mulberries, violets, vanilla, roasted almonds, anise, mocha and chocolate. Powerful, round and silky texture, very fruity and generous, fresh and balanced, with well integrated wood.
'Down-under' combinations: red fried / grilled lamb fillet or tenderloin with cinnamon, cardamom and quince, or slowly cooked beef with seasoned potatoes, with a cream of horseradish and green herbs.
