Salentein Numina Malbec is bright dark red in color and is intense and pronounced. With notes of red and black fruit, chocolate, vanilla and tobacco. This special mono varietal has beautiful tannins and hints of vanilla in a long soft finish.
The Salentein estate consists of more than 2000 hectares, of which more than 800 hectares are planted with grapevines. Next to the vineyard, the estate has a 'state of the art' wine cellar where José Galante, head winemaker, makes unique Argentinian wines using modern and classic vinification techniques.
The Malbec does very well in a warm and long growing season, 'El Oasis' offers these conditions and allows the grapes to reach full aromatic and phenolic maturity. The soil is slightly poor in organic matter, which forces the grape vine to root in deeper soil layers and this has a positive effect on the aroma development in the grape.
Hand-picked and carefully selected, the grapes for this Numina arrive in the wine cellar, where the grapes first receive a cold soak. During fermentation, the must floats on top of the juice, by siphoning the juice over the must again, maximum extraction is achieved and all the beautifully powerful fruit flavors and tannin end up in the wine.
Nice wine in combination with game, red meat dishes and cheese.
