Ricardo Sanz is a sixth generation winemaker in the Rueda region and together with his brother Marco and his sister Alejandra they started Bodega Ricardo Sanz in 2005. At Ricardo Sanz they have a very modern approach to winemaking with an absolute focus on the organic/organic growing the native varieties such as the Verdejo.
The Sanz family in Rueda is legendary and their importance in terms of innovation should not be underestimated. Each generation, dating back to 1860, has pioneered innovation. From the first mechanical press for the production of the first fresh (non-oxidized) wines of the region. For example, the current generation was the first to start working organically in the Rueda and with natural fermentation and Vin Nature and works without the use of copper and sulphite in the vineyards.
