The Azul y Garanza vineyards are located in the Bardenas Reales Nature Reserve in Navarra. Founders Dani Sánchez, María Barrena and Fernando Barrena work with "landscapes" where each of their plots enjoys as much biological diversity as this harsh and dry climate in Navarra allows. The surrounding plants, shrubs, trees, animals and insects play as big a role in the success of the grapes as the vines themselves.
Dani, María and Fernando have a passion for organic farming and have invested in farming their vineyards 100% organically, without the use of pesticides, insecticides or chemical fertilizers that destroy life in the soil. The winemaking here is very natural with almost the exclusive use of concrete vats, clay amphorae and natural yeasts. Very limited use of sulphite and on the other hand a lot of passion.
