Prosecco

Le Connaisseur runs a wide range of Prosecco wines, including Prosecco of Val d'Oca, Franciacorta Castel Faglia, Eugenio Collavini and Bolla.

Prosecco is an Italian DOC or DOCG white wine produced mainly in Veneto and Friuli. Prosecco is named after the village of Prosecco which is located in the province of Trieste.
It is made from the Prosecco grape, but 15% of the other grape varieties are allowed. There are 2 types of Proseccos: Frizzante and Spumante.
Unlike Champagne, Prosecco is usually produced using the alternative Charmat-Martinotti method, with secondary fermentation taking place in large stainless steel tanks rather than in each individual bottle, making the wines less expensive to produce.
