At few wineries, wine and art go together as well as at Enate, in Somontano (Northern Spain). In 1992, not only the wine company Enate started, but also the now impressive collection of modern art.
Built between 1992 and 1997, the state-of-the-art bodega is both a winery and a museum, with works by many contemporary Spanish and international painters. These can not only be admired on site, but also adorn the labels of the Enate bottles. And modern art pairs perfectly with Enate's wines.
In the sunny climate of Somontano, at the foot of the Spanish Pyrenees, which is characterized by enormous differences between day and night temperatures, very clean, aromatic wines are produced, which are carefully aged. They are made from the grape varieties Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Merlot, Tempranillo, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. And they can rightly be called modern, given their internationally appealing style.
