Cairanne is an appellation in the Rhône Valley in France. It is a relatively small appellation, with approximately 900 hectares of vineyards. Cairanne wines are characterized by their strength and complexity. They are made from a blend of grape varieties typical of the Rhône Valley, including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan.
