Founded in 1947 by Paul Herivault, the Domaine d'Orfeuilles is located on the former outbuilding of a medieval castle that no longer exists and now covers nearly 20 hectares of vines in the Appellation Contrôlée Vouvray. They grow Chenin on clay and clay-limestone soils with a high density of flint. This situation, specific to this vineyard, provides a clear characteristic to the wines, which are then characterized by this famous "flint flavour".
Spread over the communes of Chançay and Reugny, this vineyard is now cultivated by Bernard Herivault and his son Arnaud, who strive to preserve the traditions both in the work of the vine and in the development of their wines.
In 2014, the first certified organic wines were made. In 2016, he started cultivating all plots according to the biodynamic teachings suggested by Rudolph Steiner.
