Bodegas Don Jacobo

Don Jacobo is a winery located in the Rioja region of Spain, known for producing high-quality wines that showcase the unique terroir of the area. The winery was founded in 1898 by the Martínez Bujanda family and has remained in the family ever since, with the fourth generation currently running the estate.

Don Jacobo owns over 80 hectares of vineyards, which are situated in the Rioja Alta sub-region and are planted with a variety of grape varietals, including Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Graciano. The vineyards are located on hillsides that provide excellent exposure to the sun, as well as soils that are rich in minerals.

The winery produces a range of wines, including their flagship wine, the Don Jacobo Rioja Crianza. This wine is made from a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Graciano grapes and is aged in oak barrels for 12 months. The wine is known for its aromas of ripe red fruit, spices, and vanilla, as well as its smooth and elegant palate.

In addition to their Rioja Crianza, Don Jacobo also produces a range of other wines, including a Reserva and Gran Reserva, as well as a white wine made from the Viura grape. These wines are all made from carefully selected grapes and are aged in oak barrels for varying lengths of time.

Don Jacobo is committed to sustainable winemaking practices and has implemented a number of initiatives to reduce their environmental impact, including the use of solar panels to generate energy and the implementation of organic farming practices.
