Schug Carneros Estate Chardonnay, a Californian white wine, has intense fruit aromas of ripe pear and orange liqueur, complemented by a layer of toasted oak. Bright apple and citrus aromas give way to a full texture and a long finish. Schug does not make 'blockbusters' Chardonnay wines, the emphasis is entirely on finesse and fruit.
The vinification follows the classic European example, with fermentation in French oak barriques, followed by an aging of 9 months on the 'lees' (own fine sediment) in the same barriques.
This Chardonnay wine is an excellent accompaniment to rich pasta dishes, poultry, veal and shellfish. Also recommended with not too ripe white mold and cream cheeses.
Schug Carneros Estate Chardonnay is a delicious California white wine from the Sonoma region. This wine is made by winery Schug from Chardonnay grapes.
Recommended wine serving temperature between 12°C and 14°C.
Founded in 1980, Schug Carneros Estate Winery is the showcase and life-long dream of one of California’s most celebrated winemakers, Walter Schug. Family owned and operated, the winery is a reflection of many decades of Schug family involvement in the production of fine wines in Europe and California; both Walter and his wife, Gertrud, came from distinguished wine making families of Germany.
