Pesquera Crianza Ribera del Duero has a cherry red color and good viscosity. Ripe, dark fruit dominates the powerful nose, well wrapped in nuances of undergrowth, spices and vanilla. On the palate, the attack is velvety, quickly followed by a sumptuous, complex feeling in which fruit, alcohol, acidity and tannins balance each other perfectly. Refined, persistent and elegant finish in which the fruit is not suppressed by the wood.
The bunches of grapes are destemmed and the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks. This happens completely naturally at 22-27°C, without the addition of external yeast cells. Only after fermentation are the grapes pressed. The young wine first rests for 20 days in stainless steel tanks and is then transferred to new American oak barrels. The Crianza spends 18 months in wood and 6 months in bottle.
Delicious with roast or roast meat, especially lamb. Also recommended for meat stews, outcrop-farm chicken and (half) ripe hard Spanish cheeses.
Pesquera Ribera del Duero Crianza is a delicious Spanish red wine from the Ribera del Duero region Spain. This wine is made from Tempranillo grapes.
Recommended wine serving temperature between 15°C and 18°C.
Alejandro Fernández is a man who has made his wine dreams come true. Since 1972 he has his own wine estate in Ribera del Duero. He fought against stuck wine-growing patterns, was often declared crazy, but persevered. Now Pesquera owns more than 200 hectares of top vineyards. They are scattered; some on pebble terraces, others on high plains such as the vineyard Llano de Santiago, at 1000 meters above sea level. All these plots with their own characteristics contribute to the complexity of the world-famous Pesquera wines.
