Montes Alpha Syrah
Montes Alpha Syrah is a fruity red wine with a deep purple color with scents of strawberries and spices. The smoky spiciness adds elegance and complexity. That is why this is a powerful and at the same time soft wine with a beautiful balance and a nice long finish.
The Estate is located on the slopes of Apalta in Colchagua (Central Valley) on the Tinguiririca River, also enjoying a wonderful microclimate. The soil is poor with limited organic matter.
This wine receives a traditional vinification and then a 12-month aging in French oak barrels.
Wine - Food pairing
Serve this wine with grilled meats, lamb and red meat. But this spicy wine is also recommended with spicy cheeses.

Vina Montes
Montes' story seems like a dream but has become more and more reality. In 1987, Aurelio Montes and Douglas Murray, both with extensive expertise in the world of wine, set out to realize their dream of producing top quality wines far superior to those produced in Chile up to that point. In 1988 two more partners joined, Alfredo Vidaurre and Pedro Grand, each of whom made their special and complementary contribution, thus giving birth to Viña Montes.
Montes is one of the absolute top producers in Chile and Aurelio Montes was recently voted Chile's most influential winemaker. Montes has five vineyards. Three of them are in Curico Valley and two in Colchagua Valley. In 2004, a completely new winery was built in Alpalta, which was set up according to the Chinese Fengh Shui philosophy. Aurelio Jr. has now also earned his spurs as a winemaker and together with his father he forms a close and successful team.
